Is she not far too kind? Mrs Clotilde Drogba, mother of Chelsea/Ivory Coast international striker, Didier Drogba has been taking her time to cook fried plantain chips, white rice, pepper soup, attieke and tomato sauce for the national team fans/supporters at a temporary restaurant she set up in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, where the Elephants are playing their Group B games.
The old woman who cooks for over 60 members of the National Committee of the Elephants Supporters (CNSE) explained that the only way she could contribute to the tournament is to feed the supporters so they'll have enough strength to cheer the team to victory.
Asides that freebies, Ivory Coast sports minister Philippe Legre also gave out $100 (R776) to each of the 60 supporters.
Meanwhile, she also got criticized for feeding a very few number of supporters as againt Angola and Burkina Faso who brought 700 and 200 supporters.
The picture above is National Sports Commission facebook profile picture, the last time we all checked, facebook was FREE, payment in any kind or form was no prerequisite in opening the social site. This morning, I came across the story (according to Tribune report) of how National Sports Commission opened a Facebook account for N1.2 million and till now, I'm still wondering what went wrong. Perhaps there are stuffs we don't know, did they employ the services of web designers, cartoonists, graphic artists to make the commission's facebook page look superb or are they 'planning to furnish and install gadgets inside? Too many questions begging for answer.
My interest and that of well meaning Nigerians are piqued and we want to know how it happened.

The 47 year old Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations' Roll Back Malaria Partnership, who became the first Black child to appear on South African television was presented the award during the opening ceremony of the forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
According to Hilde Schwab, co-founder of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, "For many years Yvonne has used her voice to draw attention to the causes that will change the lives of millions, from ending apartheid to improving maternal and child health, Yvonne has clearly understood her opportunities to do good and the access her powerful voice allows, through both song and conversation, to reach and influence those who can act," she said.

Sudanese President, Idriss Deby shook the foundations of Khartoum-The Sudanese capital on Friday 20th January 2012 when he invited about 400 dignitaries to his wedding engagement to daughter of Sudan's Janjaweed militia leader, Musa Hilal, a graduate in her 20s.
Held at a 5-star hotel, Deby according to press reports paid a whooping sum of $26 million dowry of which $25 million was paid to her father and the rest to her in the form of gold and jewellery.
Security at the classic hotel was beefed up very early in the morning and more than 100 police personnel were involved.
Though the couple were absent at the wedding (strange isn't it), the hotels guests were barred from getting close to the swimming pool area which witnessed the celebrations, President Bashir represented the bride while Deby was represented by a family relative named Abdo Ongi.
The bridegroom, in his 50's, has been married several times with about children. At some point, there were speculations that the pretty bride was forced into marriage, "No one has forced me into this marriage, we are not in the Stone Age," she defended.
Her father likewise denied charges that he sold his daughter for the money because of the age gap/for political motives.
But seriously guys, is $26million dowry not capital madness? Is her tissues, cells, organs and system made of gold? Their citizens wallow in acute poverty while they enrich themselves through corrupt means, infact, the fad is to spend money on women/marriage! Personally, I think there's more to this!!!

PHOTO: JOSE MOURINHO: WHEN THE SPECIAL ONE MAKES A SPECIAL DRAMA
I laughed my heart out when I saw this picture. Can you guess what's happening here? Before then, football addicts, have you ever noticed that almost all el-classico games (Barcelona-Real Madrid) are dramatic, (pitch and behaviour wise) if its not pepe attacking Messi, its David Villa slapping Ozil, ready-to-fight clusters, trading words, people getting 'red-carded', Pep and Mourinho keeping quiet and all.
God knows what happened during the last el clasico which ended 2-2 but this picture (according to reliable source) depicts Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho after wednesday game waiting for the referees at the referee's exit of the Camp Nou to insult them, well, he eventually did. Taking his time to do this is what however makes it funny and awkward.
Needless to say Mourinho is this person who doesn't care whose ox is gored, no, not with 10 red cards in his face, he will still bare and acts his mind. I love him for this....but then, who doesn't like The Special One?

Wow! A splendid, double affair! Amiable and pretty wife of Nigeria's ex Super Eagles skipper (Kanu Nwankwo) got a surprise birthday/graduation gift from her husband in London. The 26 year-old looks smashing in this outfit...
Renowned Nollywood director Ruke Amata is back with another blockbuster, 'Past came calling'-a movie which dwells on the misconception the whites majority have over the blacks in diaspora.
The producer who relocated to the United Kingdom few years back has also been grooming upcoming African actors in diaspora via his "Class Act UK"reality TV show. It also aims at giving winners an opportunity to act alongside established African stars.
"The Past Came Calling" stars Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, John Dumelo, Oliver Jolliffe, Penelope Bouchot Humbert, Demetri Turin and Class Act UK 2011 winner, Marie Kumba Gomez. The premiere will be held on the 17th of feburary at the Greenwich Odeon London and also in Nigeria during the Easter period.
Ruke explained further that, 'In London, the blacks are discriminated against, in terms of getting roles in major productions. What I did was to assemble them and advised that we should start off our own productions and by the time, do quality productions and do it long enough such that when the whites behold our productions, they will be forced to incorporate us in their own productions. That's how I started the 'Class Act'.
Former Super Eagles skipper and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Football Ambassador, Kanu Nwankwo has expressed his delight on his recent appointment as a Board of Trusties (BOT) member of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON).
Speaking on his passion to help raise the next stream of national team stars, he said that, "I have always had a passion to help develop future talent – the next Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu or Ikpeba; and the only way to do this is to catch them young. There are a lot of talents in the country we only need to discover and nurture them and there is no other way than to start at the grassroots level. That is why I'm very happy to become a member of the BOT of YSFON where I hope to use my experience to help out."
